Avanti's Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA :

Deepastambha is group of young members from various professional fields as well as students with various educational backgrounds. But we have been working together as a one corporate entity since last 3 years. I am really proud to be a part of this group which brought some drastic changes in my approach towards life.

Key Points to be noted about DCT:

‘Effective leadership is putting first things first. Effective management is discipline, carrying it out’. Deepastambha works under this principle.

In next coming years, I think we would be able achieve some of the goals which we have set down earlier, like making our presence strong amongst the well-known charitable trusts or social organizations in Pune.Having tie ups with corporate organizations, through CSR activities. 

Nurture a strong funding backup and to take up big projects (social activities) in the future.

Kedar's Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA:

DEEPASTAMBHA is a fantastic initiative by some wonderful people. It has provided a platform to all those enthusiastic, passionate people who want to do something for the society.

It is not at all easy to do activities which will directly or indirectly, benefit the society, but for more than 3 years Deepastambha is doing that without a
miss.


It’s a great privilege to be a part of this group.
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”


And I can surely say that, the list of things which an individual will learn and gain while doing a social activity with DCT is endless.Our DCT environment and approach of work is such that along with social work, it polishes as well as amplifies an individual’s assets like communication
skills, decision making. 3 years down the line our area of work will be much bigger and advanced. Coverage will be greater, number of social projects will expand, and without any doubt, DCT would have s achieved lot of praise and admiration. Certainly, to reach that level, DCT needs to address many things.

Yes, it’s a long process… Yes, hard work is needed.. but surely come 2015, and DCT would have made lot of change in the way PUNE city lives!

Pankaj's Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA:

DEEPASTAMBHA for me is:

·       An important element in my life.

·       A need of an individual’s social life.

·       A systematic and well organized social-corporate trust.

It is not just an organization but a platform to explore an individual’s
strengths and weaknesses.

Every week, it provides with ‘weekly lessons to learn’ for an individual.

I have got tremendously benefited by Deepastambha. It is one of my valued achievements.

Since last 3 years we are experimenting while doing social work. We have not concentrated and restricted ourselves in a limited area of work, but have explored various strata like environment, traffic sense, working for orphanages, old age homes, blind schools, generating donations at all.

After three years, I see Deepastambha as a well-known organization with few streams or sub-groups working in focused direction/path to bring about a change in society, the success of which will be measurable.

And most importantly I want to be one of the contributors for it.

If you really got the right people, and you've got them working together as a team, whether it's in business, whether it's in science, whether it's in politics, you can make a big difference.

And we all are working towards this in Deepastambha.

You know you are doing the right thing when you feel it in your very soul. This is the feeling, I am sure, the entire DCT team experiences for the two hours on a weekend, when we work together for our society.

I foresee, Deepastambha making something grand and quantitative as well qualitative with everyone's support and new ideas and innovations.

Apoorva's Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA:

A group of youngsters, with courage to do a lot for a noble cause, and already working very enthusiastically for the same, is DCT.

In DCT, one can always experience friendly environment.

I feel very proud, that I got such a golden opportunity to work with such a lovely group and can contribute a bit to the same.

I always felt that the immense privilege, relief and comfort of friendship while I am working with the group.

I would definitely like to thank all for having faith in me and choosing me one of the ‘BEST of FIVE’, for UPAYN 2011.

Being a NEW member, it is undoubtedly very precious to me.

Deepastambha is not just a social organization, it’s almost like a group of friends who come together and do something for the society.

Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.

Deepastambha is combination of this along with one of the most important element- fun and novelty.

It gives me great pleasure, being a part of Deepastambha.

          It is a platform for young & dynamic people who work together for a social cause. We, in DCT come together and help society for its betterment. 

          What drove me towards DCT was the spirit of its members, to involve people and make them feel comfortable as well as voice our opinions for social concerns.  

          In coming few years, DCT will be one of the NGO’s in Pune which through its hard and consistent work will help our society to become better and stronger. We will certainly explore and develop as an entire group by expanding our areas of social activities.

Prashad's Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA:

The word ‘Deepastambha’ is self-explanatory. It means, it gives a hope of ray to the fishermen, sailors etc. who are lost in sea. I never regret that Pune doesn’t have a sea/seashore because it has ‘Deepastambha’!

It is a hope of ray for all classes and masses of the society including myself.

‘Deepstambha’ offers an aid to all classes and masses of society. For me, as an individual, it has provided a concrete path on which I can rely and walk to achieve my destination.

Deepastambha has altered my personality at some extent. It has given me an opportunity to overcome my shy nature. Initially, I was not able to interact with people. I needed a stage to overcome this problem, and I did it. Thanks to ‘Deepastambha’.

Another achievement I must narrate here is that, at the outset, I was carrying out social activities alone. Thereafter, I joined Deepastambha with an intention to engage myself directly into social activities. Now, I feel that, my social awareness is improved and my views regarding social duties are widened.

I think, while working socially, we should not think about the results and fruits. We are carrying out divine work in the interest of the society.  Genuine efforts are always appreciated. No doubt, in coming years, we will be on pick i.e. in the heart of the people.

To achieve our goal, along with the manpower, funding, strategies we will require a smooth defined system, towards which we all are already working.

Hence after 3 years, I see Deepastambha with more members, stable funding, sponsors, and with an array of social projects so that we would be in position to occupy more members and thus create a bigger and a better impact on our society, for our society.

Hrishikesh's Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA :

 Most enthusiastic group I have ever come across till date.

Despite having career and family responsibilities everyone is contributing as per respective reach. As far as my thinking goes, apart from social work, DCT has also contributed in the personal growth of an individual..

            “One piece of log creates a small fire, adequate to warm you up,

add just a few more pieces to blast an immense bonfire..”

And this is what we charged up DCT members intend to do with our hard and consistent social work.

             There is no concentrated effort on any of the particular area of social work as yet, but exactly on other side, we are reaching out to the various social problems without any limitations

Unity and open culture was, is and will be our strength. Harmony and feeling of oneness are one of the vital ingredients we, DCT possess.

            “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”

             And I can positively say that DCT is a successful social organization as far as actual social work is concerned.

It has created its apt identity in the social network and we will continue to grow similarly in future.

Deepastambha’s vision which talks about the responsibility towards the society, is clearly reflected in the way it works. I joined Deepastambha with the same intention and I can say today that I haven’t made a wrong decision.

    "Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success."

 And in Deepastambha, we are following the same pattern.

 With innovative ideas and energetic members, this group is working in different areas of work.

Currently, Deepastambha has reached out only to certain parts of Pune,

but soon we will reach to as many people as we can and work across the city.

With the increase in the areas and type of work since its inception, Deepastambha will go far ahead and make its presence felt in the community.

Chinmay’s Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA :

          DCT is an excellent social group which recently has been converted in to the Charitable Trust. A forum where youth can literally make their dreams come true by doing a real social work, exploring their ideas, is what DCT is all about.

          Plan your work, and work your plan, is what we all members have started practicing, for our social activities.

           One who thinks that he can make a vital change to the current situations surrounding us, can definitely try out his ideas here.

           Over the 4 years period now, Deepastambha Charitable Trust has had a remarkable growth in terms of experience in social work, and now is the time to use this knowledge to the fullest and make our society, nation and ultimately the world as the place of opulence.

           In next 3 years, DCT will surely spread within Maharashtra, and we might have operations in more than one state by then.

Sucheta's  Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA:

          DCT has become an integral part of my daily routine. I, myself have evolved in the period of my involvement with DCT.  Along with doing social work, self-development is also an added element which all the members get to experience here.

         

           Because of our open culture and open channel of communication, every member gets a chance to do something different, over a period of time. Like, initially, I was a participating member, later I started managing few activities. And now, I like to play an active role in DCT, thanks to the trustees/ members who have motivated and inspired me.

Good ideas remain ideas - unless we act upon them!

          With this motto instilled in all of us, whenever any new idea related to any social issue comes in our mind, we share it, brainstorm on it, explore new areas and take steps towards the same. Due to this, we do not have the same mundane activities every weekend plus the added ‘innovative touch’ makes these activities act as stress busters!

I am very happy that I am a part of DCT, and will always love to work for it.

          DCT is already an established charitable trust, but involving and targeting more IT companies for CSR activities, will directly have an impact on the and its issues, and we have already started towards this phase. The way we are growing, DCT will certainly reach the pinnacle in the social area, with its exuberant brilliance and make everyone around us- socially literate.

Rohit's Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA

            Though this group is formed with the object of betterment of society, according to me it’s a group which works more for creating awareness amongst people about the betterment of society.

            Though it’s very difficult to measure the success of this group in terms of betterment of society, I can surely say that this group immensely helped me in my personal development. For a time–period I may not be socially active but I can surely say that I have social awareness and I think all the members of DCT will agree with me on this point. Herein, lies the success of DCT.

            "There are only two rules to change: One is to begin; the second is to continue."

And we have successfully followed both the rules in DCT and we are surely going to keep going on.

            We find many literate people around us speaking about dos and don’ts for the betterment of our society. But, because of this group I realized that doing is much much much difficult than merely speaking. Today I feel satisfied, when I think that, though I may not have not brought any change in the society, atleast I tried for it, instead of merely speaking.

            With the same dedication, in the following years, we will surely have a greater impact on our society and thereby regulate more social projects.

Saurabh’s  Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA :

          Deepastambha has given a whole other side to my life, of course a positive one.  As far as other people are concerned, they are of the opinion that what we do in Deepastambha is not at all enough to even marginally change the environment around us. But when we actually work and devote ourselves for the social cause, it gives us immense confidence and positive attitude towards making the society better. Deepastambha is an entity which all people need personally as well as socially. I am extremely proud to be a member of DCT.

‘No action, no change. Limited action, limited change.

 Lots of action - Change occurs. ‘

This is what we have realized, all of us together, in last 3.5 years.

          Further 3 years down the line, I see DCT as a big platform for those who are willing to serve the society in ANY kind be it physical, financial, donations, think tanks etc. There won't be any boundaries for doing good things.

Amol's Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA:

Great people,Economist,Analyst from all over the world always say that India has got Bright future ahead as

India has got tremendous youth power.... This power has ability to bring revolution in country.. Before joining Deepastambha I used to think

those sentences are good & Real in speech only.... 

But now Being deepastambha member I can say that Yess... !!!

We can bring change....and we together have shouldered that responsibility, now there is no way back..

Deepastambha is Thought pattern (Wichar Dhara) which is very simple in nature and easy to follow

At individual level also anyone can easily adopt....

 4 years of association with Deepastambha gave me lot things like

Good lessons, Opportunities, Memories,Confidence,Leadership, Friends, Philosophers, Knowledge and last but not least sense of social awareness

It won’t be wrong at all if I say my life has changed totally after joining deepastambha on all fronts of my life. In all

I am thankful & feeling proud being part of Deepastambha which always Guides me, mentors me, directs me at all stages of my life

In last 3.5 Years Deepastambha has done phenomenal growth work area wise as well as Member count wise. Coming 3 years will be most crucial period for

Deepastambha. In terms of maintaining level and Quality of work and goodwill what  we have gained in last few years by working in different social work areas.

We also have to spread geographically to explore more areas and learn more things. Deepastamabha should create atleast 3 “Brands” in social work in next 3 years.

Anushka’s Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA:

A balanced way of life is where you are able to harmonize and integrate the experiences, first at the individual level, body, mind and spirit, then at the social level, through support and care, inspiration and motivation. In this way, I am not only improving myself, but the society and the environment as well.

“Freedom is a prerogative of all living things, man being no exception.” Deepastambha has given me a platform to express my views, work in the way I want to and a gradual transition from a chaotic to a more disciplined, organized and centralized manner, of course in the direction of mission and vision of Deepastambha. 

It is humans alone who can willfully ignore their responsibilities and usurp the rights of other members of society knowing it to be wrong, but Deepastambha has made us more aware about our responsibilities towards society and gave us direction to become a good citizen of this country.

I have taken an experience of so called “Group Therapy “in DCT. It is helping me to learn that ‘to listen to other people is a valuable tool’. The fact is that everyone in this group has something to contribute.  Feedback (not advice giving) from other DCT members is valuable help in sorting out problems. 

Over time, DCT friends have become a precious resource for each other.  They provide a support network for specific problems or challenges.

Deepastambha will be completing 4 years in 2012 and with small steps we are moving steadily. We are studying and practicing on various aspects. The projects like “Eco-Paavitrya”, “Conserve To Serve”, “Upayn” have definitely taken DCT to a particular standard of management and dedication. I am also looking forward for “Yunguns” which is a group formed recently within DCT for coming generation where the pleasure of managing the activity and decision making will be enjoyed by them, which we are enjoying for past few years.

In next 3 years,we will come with some more concepts with different projects and set benchmark for ourselves. At the same time we are also setting some plans for CSR activities which is going to be an important part for corporate in future.

 I think this is the group of friends who works together, enjoys together for good purpose.

Ameya’s Perspective of DEEPASTAMBHA:

“Knowing is not enough... We must apply... Willingness is not enough... We must do...” that is how I would like to describe Deepastmbha.

The willingness to change is what made all of us come together. We see lot of things that we feel needs to be changed for better social life, but doing something constructive is what is really important and that certainly starts from oneself. The time has come to change our perspective from complaining to cooperation. It’s a continuous process and would surely take years of hard and consistent work. But as they say “good start is half done”.

I think to do anything the most important part is Enthusiasm and which Deepastambha has in abundance. Taking this initiative to a different level and to build major changes would certainly take lot of years, and we are up for this task.  Deepastmbha according to me is changing definition of Social Work all together. Deepastambha is making Social Work a part of routine which one does not want to miss at any cost. In Deepastambha, not only it is easy for anybody to explore their ideas towards Social Work but also those ideas are guided properly. Deepastambha is triggering the Social Sense in all its members.

 For me serving for such a wonderful initiative itself is an achievement.

Deepastambha have created superb platform in last almost four years, now it’s time for Deepastambha to launch on bigger level. 


I think Deepastambha in three years down the line will be among the top "Doers" in the society. Be it any kind of Social Work, Deepastambha will certainly create an impact in bigger way. We will keep our enthusiasm growing day by day to achieve any gigantic task. We will reach to bigger heights keeping our feet firm on the ground. Deepastambha will be connected to Corporate World to create impact in the Society in fruitful way. Deepastambha can also have different levels of research, management, finance and will set standards in the field. This spells a lot of hard work and I am so excited to oblige. The question is not “what we will do?” the question is “what all we can do?”  

“Faith is taking the first step even when we don't see the whole staircase.”
